SEND (Provision for children with Special Education Needs and Disabilities)

Welcome to our Special Education Needs and Disability section of our website.

At Ainsdale St John's, we actively remove barriers to children's learning by delivering Quality First Provision that is differentiated and highly personalised in an inclusive setting.

Our Deputy Head Teacher, Mrs Sarah Myers, is our SENDco who has overall responsibility for SEND and Inclusion. We believe in a close partnership between home and school. Therefore, if you have any concerns about your child, speak with your child's class teacher. Further meetings may then be arranged with the SENDco to gather more information, provide advice or discuss actions that may be needed to support your child's learning and wellbeing.

A mainstream school, we give effective provision for children with special education needs including those with:

  • Communication and Interaction Needs
  • Cognition and Learning Needs
  • Social, Emotional and Mental Health Needs
  • Sensory and/or Physical  Needs
