Welcome to our Governors’ section.

Please find below details of how our Governing body is structured, including the names, categories, responsibilities and terms of appointment for each Governor.


Two stalwart governors have recently retired from the role after many many years of excellent service. We would like to thank Mrs Ruth Wake and Mr Andy Webster for their outstanding commitment to the school, its children and their families. 


We will be welcoming two new governors to the school in the Autumn term. 

Key responsibilities:

Mr J Forshaw: Chairs the meetings of the full governing body. Link governor for Early Years and Music; Adopted governor for Year 2; sits on  Finance Committee; Personal Development, Behaviour and Welfare and Health and Safety; Rainbow Group and Staffing Appeals

Mr Hyland - Vice chair;  Link governor for Assessment; Adopted governor for year 6; chairs the  Curriculum Committee' Admissions Committee, Personal Development, Behaviour and Welfare and Health and Safety; also sits on Staffing Committee 

Mr P McHugh: Link governor for PE; Adopted governor for Year 1; responsible for GDPR.

Mrs H Smith: Link governor for English, MFL; Adopted governor for year 4; sits on Curriculum Committee; Finance Committee; Personal Development, Behaviour and Welfare and Health and Safety; Responsible for Safeguarding.

Mrs C Thursfield: Link governor for Attendance; Adopted governor for Reception; sits on Curriculum Committee; Personal Development, Behaviour and Welfare and Health and Safety; 

Mr Maguire: Link governor for Geography and History; Adopted governor for year 3; sits on Finance; Responsible for SEND and Disadvantaged. 

Mrs K Smith: Link governor for Art and Design and Design Technology; Adopted governor for Year 6; sits on Personal Development, Behaviour and Welfare
