In Year 5, we created a pocket in our English books to 'store' our nonsense words. Initially we wrote our own nonsense words down and then we worked together in mixed groups to create a mind map of as many nonsense words as we possibly could. These posters are below!
We then 'magpied' other peoples' nonsense words and stored one of these in our pocket too.
Finally we looked at some of Roald Dahl's most famous nonsense words and chose our favourite to include in our English work. Mrs Horsley's favourite is 'trogglehumper' which Roald Dahl says are dreams worse than nightmares!
