TOPIC OVERVIEW:
YEAR SIX AUTUMN 1 – ENDANGERED ANIMALS
In year 6 this half term we will be studying ‘ENDANGERED ANIMALS.’ Our class text is ‘Can we save the tiger?’ by Martin Jenkins but we will also study excerpts from Kipling’s, ‘The Jungle Book,’ and ‘Lord of the Forest,’ by Caroline Pitcher and Jackie MorrisThese texts provide an exciting stimulus for all types of writing and the more knowledge you acquire the more your vocabulary choices for writing expand. So be an active learner and get a head start by finding out which animals are at risk of extinction – why they are critically endangered – and what we can do to help. You have multiple resources at your fingertips when you search wisely using the internet.
