Four of our year 6 children spoke at the Holocaust Memorial Service held at Christ Church in Southport. In front of a packed congregation consisting of local dignitaries and members of the Jewish, Christian and Muslim community they spoke about what they had learnt about the Kindertransport and the Jewish refugees who escaped Nazi controlled areas in 1938.
They then proceeded to talk about modern day refugees reflecting on how refugees feel when they are forced to flee their countries and cross borders to safety.
At the end of the moving service they were congratulated on their knowledge and understanding of the plight of refugees.
Well done to Alex, Grace, Lexie and Elisabeth for representing the school in such a mature and sensible way.
