SEND Support
Welcome to our Special Education Needs and Disability section of our website.
At Ainsdale St John's, we actively remove barriers to children's learning by delivering high quality provision that is personalised in an inclusive setting.
Our Assistant Headteacher, Miss Giles, is our Inclusion Lead/SENDCo who has overall responsibility for SEND and Inclusion. She can be contacted on [email protected] or by phoning the school office on 01704 578427.
We believe in a close partnership between home and school. Therefore, if you have any concerns about your child, please speak with your child's class teacher.
Further meetings may then be arranged with the SENDCo to gather more information, provide advice or discuss actions that may be needed to support your child's learning and wellbeing.
As a mainstream school, we give effective provision for children with special education needs including those with:
- Communication and Interaction Needs
- Cognition and Learning Needs
- Social, Emotional and Mental Health Needs
- Sensory and/or Physical Needs
The Local Offer provides clear and accessible information about the provision Sefton Council expects to be available locally for our children and young people from 0 to 25, who have special educational needs and/or disability (SEND). For more details click 'What is the Local Offer?'
At Ainsdale St. John's we liaise with a wide range of external agencies to support the provision in place for children with SEND, these include:
