As in previous years, children from Ainsdale St John's participated in the Holocaust Memorial Service at Christ Church in Southport.
This year's theme was 'Stand Together' and during their history lessons, the Year 6 children had learnt about how the citizens of Chambon Sur Lignon in France had stood together to hide and save over 3500 Jewish children between 1942 and 1945.
Students, Joe, Jessica, Megan and Hannah acted out a fictitious scene where the local pastor - Pastor Trocme - persuaded his fellow villagers to help protect the Jewish refugees.
The children were praised for their eloquence and 'extremely compelling performance. They made a most moving and thought-provoking contribution which was greatly appreciated by everyone who attended.'
We are proud of them all.
