For the 100th Anniversary to mark end of World War 1, The Southport Learning Partnership of local schools across Southport, organised and took part in service of remembrance at St Cuthbert's Church in Churchtown.
School Council Representatives presented their wreaths and took part in a 2 minute silence to remember those who had lost their lives. A World War 1 replica plane was positioned outside the church which everyone stood by as The Last Post was played by Mr Dempsey from Sefton Music Services.
Reverend Rebecca Clarke welcomed all the children and staff and brought everyone together in prayer. Mr N Sheeran (Birkdale Primary Headteacher) spoke about Richard George Masters, a local hero from Southport, who had served in the First World War as an ambulance driver and had evacuated around 200 men in extremely difficult conditions.
The wreaths, which show photographs of the schools' Remembrance Day artwork have been left on display at St Cuthbert's Church for all to see.
