Early Reading

At ASJ, we are passionate about ensuring every child becomes a confident, fluent reader during their time with us. To give our pupils the strongest possible start, we follow Read Write Inc. Phonics, a systematic and inclusive programme that supports children in learning to read quickly and securely. Through daily, carefully structured lessons, children learn to recognise sounds, blend them to read words, and begin to develop the comprehension and vocabulary skills that underpin a lifelong love of reading. We are fully committed to this approach because it enables all children—whatever their starting point—to experience success and grow into enthusiastic, capable readers.
